Former Ohio State punter Cameron Johnston signs with the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed former Ohio State punter Cameron Johnston.

Originally signed as an undrafted free agent in 2018 by the Philadelphia Eagles, Johnston spent three years in the City of Brotherly Love. After that, he landed in Houston with the Texans where he would have his most productive years. Johnston led the league in total punt yards in 2021 and then in 2022 had a career-best of 48.1 yards per punt while landing 37 punts inside the 20-yard line, also a career-high.

Before his NFL career began, the Australian-born punter spent his collegiate days in Scarlet and Gray from 2013-2016. He was part of the 2014 national championship team and was first-team All-Big Ten in 2016.

Johnston heads to the Steel City averaging 47.3 yards per punt which ranks third among active NFL punters.
