Former Ohio State Buckeyes in top 50 of NFL player jersey sales

The Ohio State University has been known as an NFL factory for quite some time. The Buckeyes produce some of the top talent year in and year out. As a matter of fact, since the year 2000, Ohio State has had more players taken in the NFL draft than any other team with 157 players drafted. At No. 2 is Alabama with 144.

The NFL is all about big money and part of that cash flow is jersey sales. The NFLPA released its rankings of the top 50 jerseys sold in 2021-2022 and as you might expect, former Buckeyes are littered throughout the list. Four to be exact and a fifth if you want to throw in Joe Burrow who came in at No. 4 on the list.

Topping the list of most popular jerseys were as follows:

No. 8 – Justin Fields, Chicago Bears.

No. 16 – Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys.

No. 23 – Nick Bosa, San Francisco 49ers.

No. 42 – Chase Young, Washington Commanders.

Could more Buckeye names be on that list in the coming years? We would say there’s a good chance after Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave were both first-round selections in the most recent draft.

One thing is for sure… Ohio State is well represented in the league and the fans and facts support the popularity and prowess of former Buckeyes across the country.
