Former Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino calls out Clemson for sign stealing
Former Louisville head coach Bobby Petrino held his first press conference as the new offensive coordinator at Arkansas, and Petrino still can’t get over Dabo Swinney and Clemson’s success over him during his time with the Cardinals.
Petrino was asked about the Michigan sign-stealing scandal during the press conference and what he thinks. With no hesitation, Petrino called out Clemson for doing exactly that.
“I don’t know anything about, you know, Michigan and what they did or any of that. I honestly didn’t pay any attention to it,” Petrino said. “But I do know when you went and played Clemson that they were going to have your signals.”
“They had guys on the sidelines standing there with a sheet of paper with your signals on it, and that was tough.”
Excuses are easy to make when you are 0-5 against a program as a team’s head coach. Petrino was quick to make those excuses even when he was starting a new job with a new program. Petrino may want to worry about his program rather than reflect on his past and consistent lack of success against the Tigers.
