Former Auburn legend predicts that South Carolina will upset Georgia

Former Auburn Tigers legend Takeo Spikes predicts that the South Carolina Gamecocks will upset the Georgia Bulldogs this season.

Spikes was the No. 13 pick in the 1998 NFL draft. He went on to have a lengthy NFL career that lasted from 1998-2012. Spikes played high school football at Washington County High School in Sandersville, Georgia.

Why does Takeo Spikes think that South Carolina will upset Georgia at home in week three of the 2022 college football season?

The former Auburn linebacker thinks South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler will the key reason why the Gamecocks will upset the defending national champions. Georgia does not have much tape on Rattler against SEC opponents and has not had any previous chances to prepare for him.

Here’s the bold prediction that Spikes made on the SEC Network:

Georgia will be heavily favored when the Dawgs face South Carolina on Sept. 17. The Bulldogs open the season against Oregon on Sept. 3 in Atlanta and then face Samford on Sept. 10 in Athens. South Carolina will be Georgia’s first road game of the season.

The Gamecocks play at Arkansas the week before hosting Georgia.
