As a safety at Alabama, Thompson tallied 112 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, and three interceptions. The Texas native recorded 78 of the 112 tackles during his redshirt-junior season in 2018. Soon after, he would forgo his senior season and declare for the 2019 NFL Draft.

He went on to be drafted in the fifth round by the Cardinals. Thompson went on to spend four seasons with the organization before being waived in September.

Now, Thompson has found himself a new home with an opportunity to work his way up to the Jaguars’ active roster.
