Football roundup: BBE makes it 8-0 with a win over KMS

Oct. 18—BELGRADE — Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa put the final touches on a perfect regular season.

In a Mid Northwest Gopher Gold District matchup between the past two Section 4A football champions, the Jaguars won 20-7 on Wednesday.

BBE remains in Section 4A while KMS is now in Section 5AA.

The Jaguars led 14-0 at halftime after a 1-yard Luke Dingmann run and an 18-yard pass from Dingmann to Jack Lundberg.

Lundberg ran for 42 yards on nine carries. He also caught three passes for 30 yards. Dingmann completed 13 of 18 passes for 105 yards.

The Fighting Saints cut the gap to 14-7 in the fourth quarter with a 6-yard TD run from Jett Olson and a Luisao Padilla kick for the extra point. Olson ran for 133 yards on 24 carries.

BBE cemented its victory with a 1-yard TD run from Harley Weber.

Both teams will find out their postseason fate on Thursday. Both 4A and 5AA are seeded by QRF, a formula devised by Minnesota-Scores.net.

Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City piled up 417 yards in offense and led 36-0 at halftime in its victory over Benson at Grove City.

Isaiah Renne had six receptions for 86 yards and three touchdowns and also passed for a 27-yard TD to quarterback Kyler Pickle on a trick play. Pickle wound up 16 of 22 passing for 147 yards and four TDs and had four solo and three assisted tackles with a tackle for loss.

Jevon Williams ran 15 times for 194 yards and two TDs for the Falcons.

For Benson, Blake Brehmer rushed 18 times for 131 yards and a TD.

Royalton built a 30-0 halftime lead in a Week 8 victory over host Paynesville.

The Bulldogs' score came in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run from Emmitt Burg. Paynesville ran for 141 yards in the loss.

Paynesville awaits seeding for Section 5AA to be released on Thursday.

Albany rallied for 22 points in the fourth quarter to earn the victory at Montevideo.

Adam Dennis scored his fourth touchdown on a 48-yard run in the fourth quarter to tie it for the Huskies. Then, Drew Lehner ran for a two-point conversion to put Albany up 43-42.

Montevideo's Francis O'Malley ran for 319 yards and four touchdowns on 32 carries. He also caught one pass for four yards and had 11 solo and three assisted tackles, including two tackles for loss.

Levi Johnson passed for one touchdown and ran for two more to lead Minnewaska to the victory at Melrose.

Johnson hit Luke Danielson for a 59-yard TD pass to open the scoring. Johnson then had touchdown runs of 5 and 13 yards in the second half to seal the victory.

Minnewaska held Melrose to 40 yards rushing on 21 attempts. The Dutchmen gained 167 in the air, getting a four-yard touchdown from quarterback Logan Schad to Hudson Bitz in the third quarter, cutting Minnewaska's lead to 14-6.

Mountain Lake scored the final two touchdowns of the game to earn the victory over Renville County West at Danube.

Jasen Jansen scored RCW's pair of touchdowns. He ran for 130 yards and two touchdowns on 18 carries. His longest touchdown went for 69 yards.
