Football: What would the FHSAA brackets look like if the playoffs started today?

It's Week 8 of the high school football season, and the playoff picture is starting to get a little clearer.

Chaminade-Madonna (Class 1M) remains the No. 1 overall team on the Florida High School Athletic Association's power rankings, which were released Tuesday.

The Lions have a rating of 23.688. Mainland (Class 3S) is No. 2 with a rating of 19.463 and Cocoa (Class 2S) is third with a rating of 19.2. No other team has a rating higher than 19.

The other No. 1 teams in their respective classes are Lake Mary (4M), St. Thomas Aquinas (3M), Norland (2M), Buchholz (4S), Lakeland Christian (1S) and Williston (1R).

Homestead (Region 4-3M), Lakeland (Region 2-4S), Venice (Region 4-4S) and Golden Gate (Region 4-3S) were among the teams to move up to the No. 1 seed in their respective regions.
