Florida high school football TD pass list includes Noah Grubbs, Tim Tebow

Lake Mary sophomore Noah Grubbs became one of only eight Florida high school quarterbacks to throw 49 touchdown passes in a season.

That came after combining with Dr. Phillips quarterback Stanley Anderson to set a state record for passing yardage by opposing quarterbacks in a game to open the season.

Grubbs had 44 in the regular season and five more against Boone in a 42-38 playoff win. The Rams finished 10-2 with a 36-10 region semifinal loss to Jacksonville Mandarin last week.

Topping the state all-time list is former Lake Nona quarterback Tucker Israel, who set state and area records with 56 TD throws in 2014. A month after Israel did so Tampa Jefferson QB Quentin Williams tied his record in a state championship game.

This year, Wakulla senior Haden Klees became the fourth player with 50. His team finished 11-1. Klees is a Samford University commit.

The top 13 list includes current Hollywood Chaminade senior Cedric Bailey, who had 47 as a junior last season, and former Florida Gators Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow (44).

Bailey has 36 TD passes this year and could play three more games for an 11-0 team that is ranked No. 1 in the FHSAA.
