Five-star quarterback planning a trip to LSU, per report

The Tigers may still have a lot of work left to do on the 2023 recruiting class, but it’s never too early for coach Brian Kelly to turn his attention to next year’s cycle.

LSU and Kelly are already putting in work to woo one of the top available prospects in that class, quarterback Jadyn Davis. The Providence Day School (Charlotte, North Carolina) prospect is rated as a five-star recruit and considered the No. 1 passer and No. 2 overall prospect in the 2024 class.

Davis picked up an offer from the Tigers on May 3, and he’s apparently planning a visit to Baton Rouge next month. His father, Jeremiah, told 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong that Davis plans a trip to Clemson on June 1 and LSU that weekend.

“It’s LSU and they seem to have a good coaching staff that can develop players,” Jeremiah said of the Tigers. “I think Brian Kelly is going to bring some consistency to the school.”

LSU isn’t the only program vying for Davis’ services. He has offers from nearly every top program around the country, including Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State. Landing him will not be easy, but it would be arguably the biggest recruiting win Kelly has had since arriving on the bayou.
