Five-star LB Harold Perkins announces top three schools, Texas makes the cut

With the Dec. 15 early signing day quickly approaching, Texas is still trying to bring in some high level players to join their already loaded 2022 recruiting class.

Steve Sarkisian’s first full class is currently sitting at No. 7 in the nation, and it will likely climb a few spots if they’re able to land a few of the remaining targets on the board.

One of the highest rated recruits left on Texas’ board is five-star linebacker Harold Perkins. The Cypress, Texas native is rated as the No. 6 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class, and the No. 2 prospect in the state of Texas.

On Thursday, Perkins announced the final three schools left in his recruitment. Texas made the cut alongside Texas A&M and LSU.

Texas has a few more weeks to persuade him to become a Longhorn, as he is expected to announce his commitment on Jan. 2.

As it currently stands, Perkins holds three crystal ball predictions in favor of Texas A&M.

The Longhorns need physical and fast linebackers like Perkins. The extra time that Texas now has from not making a bowl game needs to be maximized in order to attract future stars with this type of talent.
