Five players the Browns should look at from the FCF

Fan Controlled Football is like the Arena Football League on steroids and the indoor football league has a few stars like Johnny Manziel, Terrell Owens and Terrence Williams, but they have yet to have someone make a name in the NFL after making an impact in the FCF. The league has now completed its second season and my money is on a few of these players earning NFL checks.

The front office in Cleveland does a great job of turning over every stone for possible play-makers and they churn the bottom of their roster more often and effectively than most NFL teams. A few of these prospects would be worth a deeper look.

Rusty Becker went a little under the radar during his time at Cal, but he dominated this past season in the FCF with three sacks, 22 tackles and six total tackles for loss. Standing at 6’5″ and 280 pounds Becker dominates with his bull rush and maintains positive leverage throughout. At only 25 years old, Becker has room to grow and can develop into a decent role player.

Dakavian Champion went under the radar while at Southern, but he has developed into a strong player in the FCF. Despite the field being much smaller in the FCF, Champion has a great motor and is a high-effort player on the interior. Champion stands at 6’0″ and 295 pounds, but is only 24 years old and is worth a kick on the tires. He finished the season with 13 total tackles and five sacks.

Julian Charles spent his college days at Mississippi College, but he really shined that past season in the FCF with 26 tackles and an interception. Most people have probably seen the highlight of him getting beat by Terrell Owens, but most people don’t realize that Charles shut Owens out completely before that late touchdown reception.

Charles stands at 6’0″ and 198 pounds and is still only 24 years old with the athleticism to make the roster and possibly contribute on special teams.

Mike Lee, S

Mike Lee was a ballhawk this past season in the FCF snagging five interceptions and racking up 41 tackles. Lee has enough size at 5’10” and 180 pounds and enough athleticism with a 4.40 40-yard dash to make a roster in the NFL. The 2019 Honorable Mention Big 12 honoree is only 24 years old and attacks ball carriers like a wrecking ball.

Qwan’Tez Stiggers made a splash in his debut game snagging three interceptions and he finished the season with five and was a candidate for the league’s defensive MVP. Stiggers’ online bio states 23 years old, but multiple reports have him listed as 20 years old and at 6’0″ and 197 pounds, if he is only 20 years old, would be an interesting snag with his ball-hawking and sure tackling ability.
