The first person to congratulate LeBron on 30,000 points was LeBron

LeBron James is on the verge of hitting a major career milestone. The 33-year-old Cleveland Cavaliers star is sitting at 29,993 career points, just seven away from 30,000. And he’s poised to break through and hit that mark on Tuesday, when the Cavs face the San Antonio Spurs.

Even though he hasn’t scored 30,000 points quite yet, LeBron has already received congratulations on his accomplishment. From himself. LeBron posted this to Instagram on Tuesday morning:

Here’s the text of the post:

Wanna be one of the first to Congratulate you on this accomplishment/achievement tonight that you’ll reach! Only a handful has reach/seen it too and while I know it’s never been a goal of yours from the beginning try(please try) to take a moment for yourself on how you’ve done it! The House you’re about to be apart of has only 6 seats in it(as of now) but 1 more will be added and you should be very proud and honored to be invited inside. There’s so many people to thank who has help this even become possible(so thank them all) and when u finally get your moment(alone) to yourself smile, look up to the higher skies and say THANK YOU! So with that said, Congrats again Young King ! 1 Love! #striveforgreatness#thekidfromakron

It’s actually pretty sweet that LeBron posted a congratulations to himself before he reached the goal — and with a picture of young LeBron, or as he called himself, “Young King.” Basketball is LeBron’s life’s work, and it’s taken a tremendous amount of sacrifice and dedication for him to get to this point. He deserves to take a moment to appreciate what he’s accomplished.

But of course he’s not letting it go to his head. In his post, he recognizes that only six other players have ever reached the 30,000 point mark, and he should be “very proud and honored to be invited inside” what he calls the “House.”

Since LeBron has already broken the seal on congratulating him on his forthcoming 30,000 point accomplishment, it only seems appropriate that we join in as well. Congratulations, LeBron!
