How I got my start: I always had a love for swimming as a young child. I would stay in my family's pool for hours on hours. One day in kindergarten, I got a paper about the Somerset Area Aquatic Team swimming club at our local high school and I knew I had to join. I stuck with it and my passion for swimming has grown stronger every year. I am forever grateful for the past 13 years I have had with my swim family at Somerset.
I plan on attending either Pitt-Johnstown or PennWest California for a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. I have not yet decided if I am swimming in college, but I am certainly open to it. — Jake Oswalt
