Farr rolls second 300 game, Southern Tier Logistics and Fran's Landing win league titles

For the sixth time this season, a member of the Farr clan has registered a 300 game at Crystal Lanes. This time it was Chad Farr who notched his second perfect game of the season while competing in the Sun Legends Grille Mixed League. Al Farr has three perfectos to his credit this year and Brandon Farr rolled his first ever 300 game earlier this season.

After opening the Legends session with a 241 game, Chad pounded 12 shots in the pocket and carried each one of them to secure his second 300 game of the season. He closed the series with a 214 game for a 755 total.

There were four other fellows over seven in this league, including the 784 set authored by Scott Doan. He spent the entire night in the pocket to come away with games of 257, 259 and 268. That 784 series by Scott earned him runner-up scoring honors for the week.

This same league also saw John Austin ride a 267 game to a 709 series while Ben Fesetch rolled a 705 set and Doug Madison capped a 702 series with a 279 final game.

Scoring honors for the week went to Tim DeGraw and his performance in the Joey’s Contracting Mixed League. Tim was one mark short of his second 800 series of the season. He opened the night with a 278 game before adding scores of 248 and 269 for a 795 series. He registered 30 strikes on the night. Thirty-one would have been so much sweeter. In the same league, Mark Hughson tossed a 734 series.

There was a scoring explosion in the Tire World of Corning Men’s League with 10 guys over the 700 mark. Steve Annis led this parade when he kicked off a 758 series with a 268 game. Jim Sjoblom wasn’t too far behind with his 754 series while Bill Bauman notched a 743 set. Tim DeGraw’s superb season just keeps rolling along with a 739 while Mike Brewster posted a 736 and JR Fleming came up with a 730. Teammates Chad Farr and Ron Bush tossed 722 and 711 respectively while Jim Pitts came away with a 707 series and Judd McAtee hit seven on the button.

Going just one better than Tire World, the Hatfield Real Estate Men’s League had 11 guys over 700. So, make that the Hatfield’s 11 and the Tire World’s (we’ll call them the McCoy’s this week) 10.

A couple of southpaws grabbed the top spots in the Hatfield League with Bill Bauman capping a 754 series with a 279 game while Doug Madison kicked off his 751 series with that same 279 number. Kenny Mattison, Nick Dobson and Al Farr in rapid fashion had scores of 735, 733 and 732 respectively. Then came Jim Pitts flying a 727 and Mike Donovan capping a 724 with a 290 game. Tim DeGraw fashioned a 718 set while Jeff Krout rode a 279 game to a 706 set with Mike Kosinski one pin back at 705. Paul Brion closed the lid on the sevens with a 703 total.

In other men’s league action, Brandon Harrington paced the Addison Men’s League with a 737 series that included a 299 game while Ron Gunn fired a 724 set. Dave Cecchini and Trey Potter topped the Gary Cortright Memorial Mixed League with scores of 726 and 702 respectively while Jake Blanford led the Jubilee Foods Mixed League with a 704 series.

With most of the ladies leagues having concluded their seasons, there were still a couple of ladies over six this week. Anita Gennosa topped the gals in the Cortright League with a 660 series on games of 216, 236 and 208 while Samantha Blanford led the ladies in the Jubilee League with a 627 total.

Over on the senior circuit, Al Farr capped the season in the Chilson-Wilcox Senior Men’s League with his seventh senior 700 series. Completing his sub run till the end of the season, Al paced the league with a 717 set. After opening with a 194 game, he turned things around in a hurry with a 244 and then ending it with a 279 game.

Five other fellows in the C-W also capped the season with 600s. Subs Tim DeGraw and Bruce Schoonover were the top dogs. Tim notched a 683 series while Bruce was right behind with a 681 total. John Stermer completed a superb senior campaign with a 674 series to finish with a 226 average. Marion Overhiser also played the role of supersub with his 664 series while Judd McAtee rode his hot hand to the end with a 636 series.

In other senior league action, Don Pierce put together games of 266, 214 and 212 to lead the Go-Getters Mixed League with a 692 set and weekly senior runner-up honors. Gary Gustin rode a 279 game to a 675 series to pace the Striking Seniors Mixed League while Larry Horton added a 607 series. Tom Gutow’s 658 series, that featured a 267 game and a 624 set for Dan Jones topped the Sunshiners Mixed League.

This week also marked the final week for the junior bowlers in the Spring Junior/Adult Mixed League. Camryn Stefanini went out with a bang when he balsted a 746 series on games of 257, 252 and 237. In the same league, Dante While rolled a 648 series while PJ Nelson carded a 616 set.
