Fantasy Friday: Buffalo Bills to start and drop for week four

NFL
NFL

For each week of the NFL season, we here at the Buffalo Bills cover32 site will be providing some fantasy football advice. Taking a look at two players every week, we will attempt to aid all fantasy players in their weekly roster selections with one start and one drop from the Buffalo Bills weekly roster.

Bouncing back with a win last week, the Bills still must-win game this week against the rival New England Patriots to deal with. Focusing on the rushing attack, I personally feel the team will need some luck to overcome the Patriots.. The Bills will also need top performances from many of the team’s players. Should they win, this could result in some great fantasy performers from their team.

Start — LeSean McCoy — Running Back

My second week in a row that I list LeSean McCoy as a starter. The reason being, Buffalo heavily relied on their run game last week in new offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn’s first game. Why is that? Well, partially because he was the team’s running back’s coach before his promotion.

Another reason, LeSean McCoy, Mike Gillislee, and Jonathan Williams are all super talented football players. Each has the ability to be playmakers in the rushing attack leading to a much more run heavy focus.

With McCoy getting an almost exclusive amount of carries from last week, there is no reason to think that it won’t be more of the same this week against the Patriots. With McCoy’s chances going up, his stock also rises, landing him again in our start spot for week four.

Drop — Sammy Watkins — Wide Receiver

This partially goes along with the fact that the rushing attack is now the predominant component of the Buffalo Bills offense and his current foot problems. With Watkins productions suffering from both areas, he could end up being a season long drop for me unless something improves.

With some now saying that Watkins’ foot problems are just a matter of pain tolerance and not anything physical, the star wide receiver’s biggest battle in the next few weeks could be completely mental in nature. This also includes this week’s game against New England, a game I don’t expect to see Watkins play much in.

Unless something massively changes between now and Sunday, Watkins will not be the star player we are all used to seeing. If Watkins does play, don’t expect him to have that good of a day.
