Fantasy Football: Wide receiver starts and sits for Week 9

Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Tyreek Hill, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.

Let’s look at wide receivers for Week 9.

Start: Drake London, Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons are moving on from former starter Desmond Ridder by throwing Taylor Heinicke into the starting spot this week, this is good news for all of Atlanta’s playmakers. Heinicke will be much more likely to air the football out and given London’s natural talent and the juicy matchup in front of him, he could be a slam dunk this week. Fire up London and Pitts this week confidently for the first time this season.

Start: Demario Douglas, New England Patriots

Maybe our first “Who?” of the season, Demario Douglas is going to walk into Foxborough this weekend as the starting receiver for New England. With injuries to Devante Parker and Kendrick Bourne, Douglas will be the primary receiving weapon against a defense that just traded away their two starting edge rushers. Mac Jones should find plenty of time and take advantage of a vulnerable secondary, Douglas is just the natural beneficiary here. Fire him up as a WR2 this week.

Sit: D.J. Moore, Chicago Bears

It’s going to be tough to sit one of the league’s best playmakers but with a shaky quarterback situation and a matchup with one of the best corners in the game, it may be best to adjust expectations accordingly. Marshon Lattimore should see the majority of snaps versus D.J. Moore this week, and with a hungry defense in front of him it could be a disaster of a day for Chicago. Moore is a shaky flex start this week if you have no better options.

Start: Amari Cooper, Cleveland Brows

With Deshaun Watson finally returning to the starting position it is once again safe to fire up his top target. Amari Cooper will be up against a vulnerable secondary who should present him with plenty of open space to work with. Fire Cooper up as a high end WR2 with plenty of ceiling in front of him.

Sit: Jakobi Meyers, Las Vegas Raiders

It’s certainly been a weird week in Las Vegas with the firing of their head coach and general manager, plus the benching of former starter Jimmy Garoppolo. With rookie Aidan O’Connell set to start this week the Raiders are going to be extra motivated to get Davante Adams the football. Meyers is still a good receiver, but this week feels like it’s going to be about flexing the stars in Vegas in Jacobs and Adams over Meyers. Leave him on the bench this week.
