Fantasy Football: Running back starts and sits for Week 7

Starts and sits is here to help fantasy managers make those all important last minute lineup decisions .While we won’t tell you about obvious starts such as Christian McCaffrey or Tyreek Hill, we will find players you may be waffling about and help you make a decision.

Let’s look at running backs for Week 7.

Start: Zach Evans, Los Angeles Rams

With breakout star Kyren Williams likely sidelined this week with injury rookie Zach Evans takes his place in this point productive Los Angeles Rams offense. Evans got four carries last week against the Cardinals, and while he did not look particularly impressive he seemed to be the preferred back behind Williams. This Sean McVay offense knows how to put their running backs in position to perform well, and with a matchup against a middle of the road run defense there should be plenty of points for Zach Evans to find.

Start: Kenneth Walker III, Seattle Seahawks

Kenneth Walker III has been a touchdown machine so far this season for a run fueled Seattle offense, and even though he looked pedestrian against the Cincinnati Bengals last week he gets a juicy matchup against a poor Arizona Cardinals run defense. Seattle has a chance to control this game from the start and Walker could put up his best numbers of the season. Start Walker as a strong RB1 this week.

Sit: James Cook, Buffalo Bills

If there is one thing the New England Patriots are doing right so far this season it is shutting down the run, which is not something that bodes well for a team that is known across the league for opting not to run the football in the Buffalo Bills. James Cook is experiencing a bit of a breakout year this season but it’s going to be very hard to trust any of the Bills’ ground players against the brick wall that is New England’s defensive line. Cook is a flex play in PPR leagues but should be avoided in any other format.

Start: Brian Robinson Jr, Washington Commanders

This gritty Washington Commanders offense has been good with moving the ball through the air and on the ground, and this week against a New York Giants team that can’t seem to stop a runny nose, Brian Robinson should see a heaping of carries. Robinson hasn’t really had a solid fantasy outing since his game against the Denver Broncos, but that should change here as the Giants seem about equally bad at shutting down the run game. Robinson is still a bit touchdown dependent, but you should feel safe about him hitting the century mark or finding the end zone this week. Fire him up as a RB2.
