Mark Melancon, stock up – Dating back to last season, he owns a 1.41 ERA with a 79:9 K:BB ratio over 83.0 innings. Now with Jason Grilli shelved with an oblique injury, Melancon will take over as Pittsburgh’s closer. He has the skills to never give it back.

Pablo Sandoval, stock down – The first month of the season before entering his walk year couldn’t be off to a much worse start, as Sandoval is batting .172/.252/.301 with just two homers over 93 at bats. He doesn’t have an RBI since April 16. He’ll no doubt improve moving forward, but Sandoval entered the week without a hit on a two-strike count this season.
