Fans show frustration as CU Buffs men’s basketball suffers another disappointing loss
What began as a promising season has quickly turned south for head coach Tad Boyle’s Colorado men’s basketball team.
Loaded with three potential NBA draft picks, the Buffs began the season 11-2 but have yet to find much success away from Boulder in Pac-12 play. After falling to UCLA at Pauley Pavilion on Thursday, the Buffs fell to 16-9 overall (7-7 Pac-12) and 1-7 in true road games.
Colorado’s NCAA Tournament resume suffered another hit, and unless the Buffs can make some noise in the Pac-12 Tournament, they could be headed to their third straight NIT.
Here’s how social media reacted to Colorado’s latest loss:
So talented
Horrible play to end the game. This CU Buffs team is so talented they just can’t win idek

.500 in a bad league
Colorado has been such a disappointment this season. The pieces are there for a potentially special run: a projected top-five pick, two other all-conference-quality players, a solid transfer big man and some good role players. Instead, they're 7-7 in a bad league

Support for Tad
There is some GENERATIONAL hate going on against the B-ball team rn and I really don’t get it. Yes, this team has underperformed but this program is no where close to where it is without Tad, I promise. Considering how limited the resources are for the program, it could be worse

Just short
Colorado comes up just a Tad short.
Buff fans have to be boiling at the disappointing nature of this season.

Cody Williams not utilized
You have the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft and he doesn’t miss a shot while leading your team in scoring. How do you lose? This is like a riddle.
*missed a last second heave that was irrelevant

Not how you do it
Colorado that’s not how you make the tournament

Futility continues
And the recent futility of Colorado in sport continues. 🤦♀️

NIT team
UCLA and Colorado both look like NIT teams. Bruins are on the way up and Buffaloes are sorta treading water.

NIT case strengthened
Colorado continues to strengthen its NIT case as they fall to UCLA 64-60.

Soft
It would be nice if just one year Tad Boyle’s Colorado teams showed some level of toughness on the road, or when the games really matter. I dunno how one reaches any conclusion other than “soft”.

Too much talent
Will this be the most talented team to not make the NCAA tournament?! A top 5 pick and two other draft picks? #tadboyle#cubuffs

Rough last possession
Tad Boyle has to go. What an embarrassing last possession and game. #firetad #cubuffs
