Familiar face to return as baseball coach at Mosley

A familiar face will be in the dugout for the Mosley baseball team in 2025. Principal Brian Bullock named athletic director Doug Lee as the new baseball coach, in a statement released Wednesday morning.

This spring, Lee took over the team as interim coach in early April after former coach Bobby Howard was relieved of duties. The Dolphins went 3-6 under Lee, reaching the Class 6A District 2 championship game.

"I am excited about the opportunity to be the head baseball coach at Mosley a second time," Lee told the News Herald. "I am extremely grateful to the administration for this opportunity and look forward to the 2025 season."

Lee previously coached from 1999-2004, leading the Dolphins to four county championships, four district championships, two regional championships, a Class 6A state runner-up finish in 1999 and the 5A state title in 2002. 2002. He was recognized as the FHSAA 5A Coach of the Year after that championship.

Lee will remain the athletic director as well.
