Fall sports NCISAA playoff updates: Trinity Christian football set for another run

Fall sports are drawing to a close and some already have begun playoffs.

Here are NCISAA postseason schedules, scores and results for area teams qualifying in their respective sports.

Football

First round, Nov. 3

Division II

  • No. 3 Trinity Christian 62, No. 6 Asheville Christian 7: Xayden Watson accounted for six touchdowns, throwing for three, running for two and scoring once on an interception return.

Semifinals, Nov. 10

  • No. 3 Trinity Christian 41, No. 2 High Point Christian 28: Elijah Oehkle threw for three touchdowns and ran for another. Xayden Watson caught two TD passes and ran for a 45-yard score.

State championship, Nov. 17

  • No. 3 Trinity Christian (10-1) at No. 1 Asheville School (7-3): Trinity is trying to win its fifth state championship. All of them have come under coach Chuck Webster.
