Falcons sign ex-Lions safety Duron Harmon

Another former Detroit Lions starter has found a new home in free agency. Safety Duron Harmon has agreed to terms with the Atlanta Falcons.

Harmon started all 16 games for Detroit in 2020, logging 73 total tackles and two interceptions. He led the team with over 1,100 snaps played on defense and also played over 120 on special teams. Harmon came to Detroit for just one season after spending his first seven years with the New England Patriots.

He joins a Falcons team that lost its top three safeties (when healthy) via cap situation or free agency this offseason. Harmon should step in and start for Atlanta. It’s a one-year deal for the 30-year-old Harmon.
