Falcons update preseason schedule, announce joint practices
The Atlanta Falcons’ roster is starting to look very different than it did a year ago. Not only is former league MVP Matt Ryan gone after 14 seasons as the starting quarterback, the Falcons added two new starting wide receivers, multiple edge rushers and a Pro Bowl cornerback.
The NFL released its initial schedule for the 2022 season last week, but there were a few dates that had yet to be announced, including Atlanta’s preseason game against Jacksonville.
On Wednesday, the Falcons announced the date and time for their final exhibition matchup, along with joint practice dates with the Jaguars. Check out that and more in our Wednesday recap.

The Falcons will hold joint practices with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the week leading up to their final preseason matchup in Atlanta. The practice dates are August 24-25, and the game is now officially set for August 27 at 8:00 p.m. ET.
That won’t be the only joint practice for the Falcons this preseason, though.
Falcons to hold joint practices with Jets, per report
Falcons will also have joint practices with the Jets on Aug. 19-20 in New Jersey before their preseason game on Aug. 22, according to a source.

According to ESPN’s Michael Rothstein, the Falcons will also hold joint practices with the New York Jets leading up to their game on August 22. While neither team has confirmed the dates yet, Rothstein is reporting the joint practices will take place on August 19-20.
The official game time for Atlanta’s second preseason matchup against the Jets hasn’t yet been finalized.
