Falcons invite two XFL players to minicamp

The Atlanta Falcons added six players during last week’s NFL draft, then signed another six as undrafted free agents. Several more players will get their shot to impress the coaching staff at rookie minicamp, including some XFL players.

The current XFL season ends on May 13. and thus far, 10 players have received NFL camp invites. The Falcons have invited defensive lineman Kevin Atkins and safety Lukas Denis.

Both Atkins and Denis are members of the Saint Louis Battlehawks. Despite finishing their season with a record of 7-3, the Battlehawks tied for second in their division (two teams in each division make playoffs) and missed out on a tiebreaker with the Seattle Dragons.

Atkins has yet to play a down in the NFL but did spend five collegiate seasons with the Fresno State Bulldogs from 2017 to 2021. He totaled nearly 150 total tackles during his carer and 16.5 sacks. As for Denis, he went undrafted in 2019 after spending four years at Boston College.

Per the NFL rules, the rookie minicamps must be held between May 5-8 or May 12-14. The Dolphins are the only team to confirm their dates thus far.
