All about Jax: balanced, happy, avoiding thieves of joy

Tell us something about you that most people don't know.

People might think I'm cocky or full of myself, but I never think of myself above others. I strive to bring everyone together and never think of the game as an individual.

What do you consider the world's greatest invention?

I would say the camera because it captures memories in something you can see and then you can keep reliving those memories whenever you'd like.

What are your plans after you graduate?

I plan on going to college to play football and play as far as it takes me. I also plan on majoring in business so I can still be successful after football.

What's the greatest advice anyone has given to you?

My dad told me that comparison to others is the thief of joy. This was after my freshman year, and I've lived by that ever since.

A quarterback's life: leading, serving and surgeries

Tell us something about the first competitive game you ever played.

The first time I played an organized game of football was when I was about 5 years old. The only thing I can really remember about it is I played running back and I took it to the house on my first handoff.

Why do you like playing quarterback?

I like playing quarterback because I feel that I can serve everybody else and help everybody else be successful. I also love being a servant leader and serving others.

Tell me about the torn ACL that ended your season last year.

When it first happened, it was definitely a scary process of finding who to get surgery by and who could get me back to feeling myself the fastest. Fortunately, we found Dr. (Chad) Lavender in West Virginia, and he helped so much throughout this process.

Do you have any game-day rituals?

I always visualize every play that we have on the script. Besides that, I don't really listen to music or anything.

Dream dinner: Laughs will be on the menu

If you could have dinner with four people in the history of the world, who would they be?

I'm going to pick Joe Rogan, (comedian) Theo Von, (actor/comedian) Joey Diaz and (comedian) Bobby Lee.

Why Joey Diaz?

He just has the most insane stories I've ever heard, and I feel that you could never run out of things to talk about with him.
