Who are the experts picking for Penn State’s matchup against Minnesota?

Penn State is back home this week to take on Minnesota.

Tanner Morgan suffered an injury in their loss to Illinois last weekend. However, PJ Fleck did say Morgan woke up Sunday morning and was feeling better.

This is another crucial game for the Nittany Lions and also a good opportunity for them to bounce back after their 41-17 loss to Michigan. Penn State came out shaky in the second half, which led to a blowout loss to the Wolverines.

Penn State has another highly anticipated matchup against the Gophers this week.

So, who are the experts picking this week? Let’s take a look?

First, let’s do a little background information on some key players from both teams.

For the quarterbacks, both are playing well this season. Sean Clifford currently has 1,150 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions. Tanner Morgan has1,164 yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions.

Next up, we have the running backs. Penn State’s Nick Singleton has 482 yards and two touchdowns. Minnesota’s Mohamed Ibrahim, who is coming off a season-ending injury from 2021, has 694 yards and nine touchdowns.

Finally, we have the pass-catchers. Penn State’s Parker Washington has 318 yards and zero touchdowns. Minnesota tight end Brevyn Spann-Ford has 252 yards and one touchdown.

Now, back to our expert picks.

ESPN currently has Penn State with a 62.5% chance to win while Minnesota has a 37.5% chance to win.

Next up, we have David Kenyon of Bleacher Report. It’s worth noting that we currently do not know the status of Morgan for this game. Kenyon is picking the Nittany Lions to take down the Gophers with a score of 23-20.

Next up, we have the writers over at College Football News. There were just four writers that picked Minnesota to beat Penn State. Therefore, their consensus pick was the Nittany Lions winning this game.

Lastly, we have the writers over at Athlon Sports. Of their three writers, all of them are picking the Nittany Lions to take down the Gophers.

If Morgan doesn’t play on Saturday, that should give Penn State a better chance of winning this game. This will be another good test for Minnesota and another crucial matchup for Penn State.
