Every Oregon Duck to be invited to the 2024 NFL combine

With the Super Bowl behind us, the attention of the football world transitions to the 2024 NFL draft, and all of the activity that will lead to that massive event in late April.

From pro days at major colleges to the NFL combine, multiple opportunities for prospects to try to improve their draft stock exist over the next couple of months. The marquee event is always the combine, which will take place in Indianapolis Feb. 26 through March 4.

The Oregon Ducks will be well represented this year. The list of invitees came out Tuesday morning, and here’s who will likely be in attendance for the Ducks:

QB Bo Nix

Expected Draft Position: Day 1 or Day 2 (Rounds 1-3)

Analysis: Bo Nix did well to enhance his draft stock at the Senior Bowl last month, and he can do a lot to bump it up more at the combine and at Oregon’s pro day. Right now, some project Nix to be selected as high as midway through the first round. Others see him as a second-round pick. Depending on how he does over the next month, that projection could change quite a bit.

RB Bucky Irving

Expected Draft Position: Day 2 or Day 3 (Rounds 2-5)

Analysis: This will be a big opportunity for Bucky Irving, who did not participate at the Senior Bowl. Right now, he is one of the top running back prospects in this draft class, so he could go as early as the second or third-round.

WR Troy Franklin

Expected Draft Position: Day 1 or Day 2 (Rounds 1-2)

Analysis: Troy Franklin is expected to be a first-round talent, likely going somewhere in the 20s. However, we haven’t seen him in the draft process, such as at the Senior Bowl, so there’s a good chance he can improve that draft stock by showing out at the combine or Oregon’s pro day.

OL Jackson Powers-Johnson

Expected Draft Position: Day 1 (Round 1)

Analysis: Jackson Powers-Johnson was arguably the biggest winner at the Senior Bowl. He is now expected to be the first interior offensive lineman off the board in the first round. I don’t expect that to change based on his combine results.

DL Brandon Dorlus

Expected Draft Position: Day 2 or Day 3 (Rounds 2-5)

Analysis: Brandon Dorlus did very well at the Senior Bowl, but I think he can still improve his draft stock at the combine or pro day. Some mock drafts have had him in the first round, but most peg him as a Day 2 selection.

CB Khyree Jackson

Expected Draft Position: Day 3 (Rounds 4-7)

Analysis: Khyree Jackson was unable to play to his full potential at the Senior Bowl because of an injury. When he was on the field, he certainly impressed. It might be hard to see him playing himself into a Day 2 pick, but Jackson could change that at the combine.

S Evan Williams

Expected Draft Position: Day 3 (Rounds 4-7)

Analysis: Evan Williams was another massive breakout at the Senior Bowl, where he played well in the showcase game with a big interception and several great tackles. He was a late addition to the Senior Bowl, so getting an invite to the combine is a big deal, and he can continue to play his way up the draft board.
