The Nebraska Cornhuskers have a long and interesting history when it comes to the Super Bowl. The Huskers have 60 former players who have appeared in 40 Super Bowls.
The first two Huskers to appear in a Super Bowl were Warren Powers and Kent McCloughan of the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl II. The Raiders would lose the game to the Green Bay Packers by a score of 33-14.
Those two losses would mark a run of ten straight Cornhusker losses in the Super Bowl. Nebraska would not win their first big game until a trio of Huskers won in Super Bowl XI. Rik Bonness, Monte Johnson, David Humm and the Oakland Raiders defeated the Minnesota Vikings 32-14.
Roger Craig holds the Nebraska record for wins in a Super Bowl with three. He was also the first player to score three touchdowns in the Super Bowl and still shares the record to this day.
Mick Tingelhoff has the record for the most Super Bowl appearances by a Cornhusker at four but lost all four games with the Minnesota Vikings. Scroll below to find a list of every former Nebraska football player to play for a winning team in the Super Bowl.
