EuroLeague star Vasilije Micic visits OKC in latest step of NBA dalliance
Former EuroLeague MVP Vasilije Micic, whose NBA rights are owned by the Thunder, was in Oklahoma City on Monday, The Oklahoman confirmed.
The news of Micic’s visit was first reported by Aris Barkas of eurohoops.net.
While Micic is still under contract with Turkish powerhouse Anadolu Efes, Micic’s presence in Oklahoma City is a new step, and perhaps a significant one, in his dalliance with the NBA.
The 29-year-old Serbian guard is one of the most accomplished players in Europe.

Philadelphia selected Micic with the 52nd pick in the 2014 draft, but Micic has yet to make the NBA leap.
The Thunder acquired Micic’s draft rights in a 2020 trade with the 76ers. Since then, there’s been ongoing speculation about when, or if, Micic wants to play in the NBA.
If Micic is seriously considering a move, several teams would be interested in acquiring his rights and signing him. The Thunder would have leverage in that scenario. OKC could also sign Micic outright if the two sides come to an agreement.
As of March, Micic’s NBA affairs have been represented by Jason Ranne, who worked for the Thunder from 2013-15. Ranne, an agent with Wasserman, was the Thunder’s director of strategic planning.
