ESPN will not renew Vince Carter’s contract

ESPN will not renew former Tar Heel Vince Carter per front office sports, bringing speculation about where the analyst will end up next.

The decision came on a day featuring ESPN cuts that featured some of the top analysts in the business, including Max Kellerman, Jalen Rose, and Jeff Van Gundy. Instead, Carter will finish his contract, and many think the next move for Carter will be returning home to the YES network.

Carter’s best days were spent with the New Jersey Nets, playing alongside Jason Kidd and Richard Jefferson. During his Nets days, Carter had his best career averages in points (23.6), rebounds (5.8), and assists (4.7).

The YES network would be the perfect fit. While others pondered if Carter had anything left in the tank to lace up one last time. Despite a short 3-year stint, Carter made some impressive moments while on ESPN.

Carter contract with ESPN is expected to end in September.
