Elly De La Cruz hits walk-off home run for Louisville Bats against Worcester
Elly De La Cruz, ranked the Cincinnati Reds' top prospect and named last week as ESPN's top overall prospect, hit a two-run, walk-off home run Tuesday night for the Triple-A Louisville Bats in the bottom of the 9th inning in their 5-4 win against the Worcester Red Sox.
The homer was De La Cruz's 11th in 162 plate appearances since joining the Bats.
The Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith wrote earlier that De La Cruz is expected to be the Reds' starting shortstop when he gets promoted.
Social media reactions to De La Cruz's game-winner, including from Goldsmith:
Elly De La Cruz hits a walkoff homer on an incredibly hard-hit line drive. He stole two bases today. He walked twice today.
