Pebble Hills baseball player Aiden Acosta is this week's El Paso Times' Jarritos Athlete of the Week. In a 3-2 win vs El Dorado, Acosta earned the complete-game win by allowing four hits. Both runs were unearned.

This week's top four vote getters:

  • Aiden Acosta, Pebble Hills baseball, 26,317 votes

  • Kylee Pardo, San Elizario track and field, 13,574 votes

  • Joshua Estrada. Montwood baseball, 8,728 votes

  • Bryan Villarin, San Elizario track and field, 743 votes

The El Paso Times will be honoring high school athletes this year on a weekly basis that you, the readers, help determine. We will be taking weekly nominations and will release a list of finalists for the Jarritos High School Athlete of the Week at 2 p.m. each Tuesday.

Students in all varsity sports are eligible to be nominated. The poll will close at 2 p.m. Thursday and the winners will be announced Friday each week.

Nominations are due by 5 p.m. Monday and can be submitted through email at fchavez@elpasotimes.com or by contacting Felix Chavez through social media on X (formerly Twitter).

Here are this week's nominees:

  • Vianney Adame, Montwood soccer. She scored four goals vs Coronado last Tuesday.

  • Joshua Estrada, Montwood baseball. In two victories over Americas and Socorro, Estrada led Montwood by going 4-for-6, with two walks, four stolen bases, six runs scored and three RBIs.

  • Danny Torres, Eastwood track and field. Torres ran the second fastest 5K in El Paso history with a time of 14:38.11 at the Texas Distance Festival.

  • Adelynn Rodriguez, Eastwood track and field. She earned the best time for a junior in El Paso in the 5K with a time of 17:05.04 at the Texas Distance Festival.

  • Aiden Acosta, Pebble Hills baseball. In a 3-2 win vs El Dorado, Acosta earned the complete-game win by allowing four hits. Both runs were unearned.

  • Michael Ayala, Eastlake soccer. Ayala scored two goals in win vs Eastwood.

  • Kylee Pardo, San Elizario track and field. Pardo ran a personal best 5:29 in the 1,600 meters at the Texas Distance Festival.

  • Bryan Villarin, San Elizario track and field. At the Texas Distance Festival, he ran a personal best 4:38 in the 1,600 meters.
