El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame announces specialty awards for 2023 induction

The El Paso Baseball Hall of Fame has announced its specialty awards for its Sept. 10 induction, including its high school and college honorees.

The College Player of the Year is Brandon Pimentel, who is from Socorro High School and played at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Pimentel had 19 home runs and 73 RBI this past season.

The High School Baseball Coach of the Year is Americas' Jesse Munoz, who guided the Trailblazers to the District 1-6A title and playoff wins against Midland Legacy and Southlake Carroll.

The High School Co-Players of the Year are Adrian Quintana and Easton Moomau. Moomau pitched and played third base for the Trailblazers and Quintana played the outfield and pitched for Americas.

Moomau has signed to play at UT Rio Grande Valley and Quintana will stay home and play for El Paso Community College. Moomau and Quintana helped lead Americas to a Top 25 ranking by txhighschoolbaseball.com in the final ranking of the season.

The Senior Player of the Year is Juan F. Sandoval, who played in 50 and over International League and participated in the Men's Senior Baseball League in Phoenix last October.
