Eight local boys golfers qualify for CIF-Southern Section Individual Championships
Led by a second-place finish by Oaks Christian sophomore Max Emberson, eight local golfers advanced to the CIF-Southern Section Individual Championships by making the cut at the Northern Individual Regional Tournament at Los Robles Greens Golf Course in Thousand Oaks on Wednesday.
Emberson fired a 65 to take second, finishing four shots back of winner Teddy Vigna of Dos Pueblos.
Westlake senior Jackson Turner shot a 66 to take fourth place. Buena junior Brady McHenry, Moorpark junior Kemper Wilson and Westlake senior Sammy Bermant each shot a 69 to tie for 11th. Hillcrest Christian junior Trey Tuyo shot a 68 to tie for eighth place.

Buena junior Adam Anderson and Oaks Christian seniors Jared Abercrombie and Nick Benton each shot a 70, with Anderson and Abercrombie surviving a playoff to grab one of the 20 qualifying spots. Benton earned the first alternate position.
Oaks Christian sophomore Graham Christopher and Agoura sophomore Cooper Greenwood shot a 71 to miss the cut by just one shot.
The CIF-SS Individual Championships will be held May 16 at Temecula Creek Golf Course.
