Early Week 7 Fantasy Pickups: Taylor Gabriel continues to show out
Week 6 brought us some unexpected performances that made a lot of difference. The Brock Osweiler-led Dolphins dropping 31 points and an overtime win on the vaunted Bears defense? Oh yes. Nathan Peterman covering for an injured Josh Allen and throwing a touchdown against the Houston defense on his first full drive? Yep. Granted, he then predictably threw two terrible picks to cost the Bills. Matt Ryan lighting up the Buccaneers defense for three TDs and over 350 yards? Okay, everyone expected that, but nonetheless, Sunday contained a lot of eyebrow-raising action.
Because of that, @LizLoza_FF has three players that are sure to light up the waiver wire for Week 7:
Taylor Gabriel keeps it rockin’ (22% owned on Yahoo)
Taylor Gabriel has been a target-monster for the Bears this season. He has a whopping 32 looks for 27 catches and 303 yards. In fact, he followed up his 104-yard outing from Week 4 with 110 yards in the Bears’ Week 6 loss to the Dolphins. The diminutive receiver has an obvious rapport with Mitchell Trubisky. He gets a potentially high-scoring matchup against the Patriots in Week 7, where Trubisky might have to air it out against Tom Brady and Co.
Ricky Seals-Jones can take advantage (21% owned on Yahoo)
The fantasy tight end landscape has been ugly. Injuries have derailed the position as a whole, making someone like Seals-Jones potentially more than just a streamer. He put up a disappointing goose egg in Week 5 but followed that up with five catches on six targets for 69 yards against the Vikings. Seals-Jones, along with rookie Christian Kirk, have been building a rapport with Josh Rosen. Seals-Jones also gets a nice matchup in Week 7 against the Broncos defense, which has been friendly to pass-catchers this season.
Good things in store for D’Onta Foreman? (24% owned on Yahoo)
Considering Foreman has yet to be activated from the PUP-list and clearly behind Lamar Miller and Alfred Blue on the Texans depth chart, this one is a bit of a dart throw. Foreman tore his Achilles’ last year and is expected to be active in Week 7. If indeed so, Foreman will have a tough matchup against the Jaguars behind a struggling offensive line. Runners like Frank Gore and Latavius Murray are probably better adds for the immediate present, but what makes Foreman interesting is that both Blue and Miller have been sup-bar at best for the Texans. Foreman is a talented runner who averaged over four yards a carry last season and could potentially steal touches away if Miller/Blue continue to struggle.
