Early pickups for Week 7: Who to target on waiver wire
Week 6 of the NFL season offered up some surprises, which should provide help for fantasy owners looking for a boost on the waiver wire. Here are three players guru Andy Behrens believes are worth picking up.
A complicated Miami Dolphins backfield came into focus on Sunday thanks to a huge game from Jay Ajayi against the Pittsburgh Steelers. On a day Arian Foster was active, it was Ajayi who rushed 25 times for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Everyone assumed that once Foster returned to action from a hamstring injury, he would go back to handling the bulk of the workload. Instead, Ajayi had a breakout game that should make him the unquestioned top back going forward for the Dolphins. He’s owned in just 27 percent of leagues.
Los Angeles Rams receiver Kenny Britt had a huge game against a weak Detroit Lions defense. He finished with seven receptions for 136 yards and two touchdowns. This isn’t a one-week fluke for Britt. He has 75 yards receiving or more in four of his last five games. While this isn’t a passing attack you want to be heavily invested in, Britt is worth owning in leagues with 12 teams or more.
Devontae Booker is getting an increasing amount of snaps for the Denver Broncos. After a strong Week 1 performance, C.J. Anderson has failed to average 4.0 yards per carry in five straight games. Booker is sneaking toward 40 percent of the snaps and it’s not hard to imagine that the situation will turn into a full blown committee in the second half of the season.
