E/K-M and M/P-B girls' hoops, Kidder County boys' hoops win

Jan. 10—KULM, N.D. — The Edgeley/Kulm-Montpelier Rebels scored 26 points in the first quarter and that was enough to see them get a 62-25 win over Ellendale on Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Kulm High School.

The Rebels (9-3) were led by Mataeya Mathern and Libby Mathern's 11 points. The Cardinals (5-5) were led by Hannah LaMatta, Kali Norton and Kaisa LaMatta's 5 points.

The Rebels return to the floor at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, when they host Sargent County. The Cardinals are back in action at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 11, when they take on Medina/Pingree-Buchanan.

MEDINA, N.D. — The Medina/Pingree-Buchanan girls' basketball team was able to get their second win of the season with a 64-39 win over South Border on Jan. 9, at Medina High School.

The Thunder (2-9) were led by Kalen Kinzell's 15 points. The Mustangs (2-10) were led by Macy Monson's 19 points.

The Thunder look to win their second game in a row at 7:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, when they take on Ellendale. The Mustangs attempt to put an end to their losing streak at 6 p.m. on Jan. 11, when they host Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter.

STEELE, N.D. — The Kidder County boys' basketball team got their first win of the season with a 46-27 win over Strasburg-Zeeland on Jan. 9, at Kidder County High School.

Preston Fischer's 11 points led the Wolves (1-6). The Clippers (0-8) were led by Troy Ternes' 11 points.

The Wolves look to start a winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 12, when they go to Ellendale. The Clippers are back in action at 7 p.m. on Jan. 12, when they go to LaMoure/Litchville-Marion.
