Has Duke softball made the WCWS? Blue Devils looking to make history against Missouri

Duke softball is looking to make history in the Super Regionals.

The No. 10 Blue Devils went 3-0 in the Durham Regional to move onto a three-game series against No. 7 Missouri, with the winner headed to the Women's College World Series.

Duke has already broken the program record for wins this season (50 and counting) en route to winning the ACC Championship and claiming the league's player of the year (Claire Davidson) and pitcher of the year (Jala Wright).

The Tigers will also be looking to enter the history books with a Super Regional win, as they haven't made the trip to Oklahoma City since 2011.

Has Duke softball ever made the WCWS?

Duke softball is looking for its first ever WCWS appearance in 2024, as the Blue Devils are hoping to move past No. 7 Missouri in the Super Regionals.

Duke has only made the NCAA Tournament four times, which have come in consecutive seasons dating back to 2021. The Blue Devils have also reached the Super Regionals each season since 2022, however have yet to clinch a spot in the WCWS.

Duke's first season as a Division I softball program was in 2017, with all of its seasons since under the leadership of head coach Marissa Young, the former Big Ten Player of the Year at Michigan.

The Blue Devils hosted a Super Regional for the first time ever last season but fell to No. 9 Stanford. Before then, Duke played Super Regional series on the road at UCLA in 2022 but also lost, while also falling in the 2021 Durham Regional to Georgia despite being the No. 13 national seed.

Duke softball NCAA Tournament appearances

Duke softball only has four NCAA Tournament appearances as a program, with the team joining Division I competition in 2017.

• Friday, May 24: 2 p.m. ET at Missouri (Mizzou Softball Stadium)

• Saturday, May 25: 1 p.m. ET at Missouri

• Sunday, May 26: TBA (if necessary)
