DT Logan Hall has gained playing weight during the offseason

DT Logan Hall has often been discussed as a potential replacement for DE Will Gholston, as their height and weight were nearly identical. Now, it seems, Hall has gotten quite a bit bigger in the offseason.

Hall was reportedly at 6’6″, 282 pounds when he came into the league, but Bucs defensive line coach Kacy Rodgers told media on Wednesday that he’s gained almost 15 pounds coming into offseason workouts with the team.

“I just talked to him – he’s like 296 [pounds] right now,” Rodgers said. “He’s getting bigger and stronger – he’s been here every day. We like where he’s going.”

Despite the weight change, Rodgers asserted that Hall could still look to take Gholston’s place on the line, and that he won’t have to move around as much like he did last year with the personnel the team currently has.

“Very similar measurables, if we look at it,” Rodgers said. “If those group of guys were in there at the same time, we’d see Logan playing this role, [Calijah] Kancey playing it, and Vita [Vea] playing it – but the skillset is very similar to what Will [Gholston] brought for us.”

Hall is set to be a bigger part of what has become an increasingly-younger Bucs defensive line in the past few years.
