Draymond Green explains why Ja Morant's suspension could impact his shoe sales

Draymond Green made it clear that he's had enough mistakes to avoid condemning other players, but he took the time to address the difficulties of Ja Morant's lingering situation after a second video where the Memphis Grizzlies star brandished a gun.

The Golden State Warriors star spoke on his podcast about how NBA Commissioner Adam Silver looked "crushed" when he was speaking about Morant on Tuesday, then, instead of giving a strong opinion like many others have of late, Green shifted his focus to the ramifications of Morant's decision-making.

"You're trying to build a business," Green said. "A substantial sneaker business. Kids drive sneaker sales. Kids' parents buy shoes, and those children's parents aren't impressed by what they're seeing."

Morant is one of the faces of Nike Basketball. He joined the signature sneaker roster with an announcement on last Christmas. His shoes have sold out within hours of release during each drop so far, and the next release date is scheduled for May 25.

The Nike and Finish Line apps both removed Morant's sneaker from its website, even though the Ja 1s still appear on other platforms like SNKRS.

Green's comments about buying sneakers stand out because those are the kinds of conversations that Nike will likely monitor as the NBA closes in on a suspension decision.

Earlier this week, ESPN's Michael Wilbon had a stronger take by suggesting he won't be buying Ja 1s for his family.

"I know in my house, I told [my son] you can't have the shoe," Wilbon said. "I'm not buying that shoe. You're not buying that shoe. Our money as a family is not going toward that. I'm not the only one who is going to feel that way."
