Donte Moncrief has a huge chip on his shoulder

To say the least Donte Moncrief had a disappointing season in 2016.

After finishing with 733 yards on 64 receptions in 2015 (mainly without Andrew Luck), Moncrief was expected to take the next step forward in 2016. Instead, injuries and inconsistent play set in.

Moncrief finished with a career low in receptions (30), yards (307) and yards per reception (10.2).

With a healthy Luck and Moncrief back in 2017 though, there is no reason Moncrief cannot get back on track. At 6’2″ and 222 pounds he has already established himself as Luck’s favorite redzone target (7 touchdowns in 9 games last season).

Even with the Colts bringing in former Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Kamar Aiken, Moncrief should not be worried. Even if some people (Chris Ballard) believe Aiken will take snaps away from the fourth year pro.

The beautiful thing about Twitter is that word can get around quickly. And Moncrief noticed Holder’s tweet on Ballard at the league meetings in Arizona.

Moncrief has since deleted the response, but he wants to let people know to not sleep on him this year.

The bottom line is that Moncrief will enter the season as the Colts number two receiver. And we should expect a big year from number 10.
