Dolphins to host Texas LB prior to the draft

The Miami Dolphins filled up their linebacker room this offseason, adding David Long and Malik Reed to a group that already included Jerome Baker, Duke Riley, Bradley Chubb, Jaelan Phillips, Andrew Van Ginkel, Channing Tindall and Cameron Goode.

With all that talent at the position, Miami may not end up using one of their four draft picks on a linebacker at the end of the month, but they’re doing their research. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are meeting with Texas linebacker DeMarvion Overshown before the selection process.

Overshown began his five seasons at Texas as a safety but eventually transitioned to linebacker. He played in 39 games in his collegiate career, recording 249 total tackles (30.5 for a loss), nine sacks, three interceptions and three forced fumbles.

Vic Fangio could use that versatility to mix and match with opposing offenses, allowing him an opportunity to make an impact in South Florida.

Most mock drafts currently have him going somewhere between rounds three and five, so Miami could have a chance to grab him with one of their selections.
