Dixie State TE Joe Don Duncan medically cleared, has Pro Day today in California
Dixie State tight end Joe Don Duncan has his Pro Day today for NFL teams in Corona, Calif., after being medically cleared at his NFL medical recheck following foot surgery.
Duncan was unable to do a full workout at the NFL scouting combine due to a broken left foot suffered in training on a box jump. He did bench press 225 pounds 35 times, best among all the tight ends.
Duncan was a Division II All-American selection who caught 71 passes for 1,045 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. He was invited to the East-West Shrine and Senior Bowl all-star games.
The 6-foot-2, 265-pounder has drawn high marks for his athleticism, character and blocking skills.
Duncan initially walked on at Sacramento State, but suffered a micofracture injury at the end of his right femur. He then transferred to El Camino Community College before signing with Dixie State.
Duncan will be a 25-year-old rookie.
