District 2-3A track meet: Results from field events, 3,200 on first day in Abernathy

ABERNATHY — The Childress girls and Idalou boys lead the team standings of the District 2-3A track and field meet after the opening day Thursday at Antelope Stadium.

With field events and the 3,200 meters complete, the Bobcats tallied 64 points to hold a slight edge over second-place Shallowater (58). The Wildcats will enter the running finals with 75 points, followed by the Shallowater boys with 36.

The meet will conclude Friday, with events scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. back in Abernathy.
