Diamond celebration on social media after Todd Helton selected to Baseball Hall of Fame

Todd Helton reached the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday in his sixth year on the ballot.

He is the first Tennessee baseball representative in Cooperstown, where he will be enshrined thanks to his decorated 17-year career with the Colorado Rockies. Helton, who played first base for Colorado, received 79.7% of the vote, eclipsing the 75% threshold for induction.

He will be inducted along with third baseman Adrián Beltre and catcher Joe Mauer on July 21. But the celebration started Tuesday as former teammates, friends and fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to offer their congratulations.
