Devin Haney vs. Ryan Garcia: Predictions, picks and odds for boxing match

Former undisputed lightweight champion and current WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney will look to defend his title belt this weekend against Ryan Garcia.

Garcia, 25, held the WBC interim lightweight belt in 2021. He has moved up a weight class in the years since and will challenge Haney (31-0, 15 KOs) to add a first official title to his résumé.

Haney and Garcia (24-1, 20 KOs) have a history that dates back to their time as amateurs, where they each won three out of six total bouts. Their upcoming fight in Brooklyn will be the first time they face off as professionals.

Here's what some of the experts are predicting for Saturday's super lightweight championship fight.

Claressa Shields, undefeated pro boxer: Haney to win in unanimous decision

Shields said, "It just seems like that to me, Devin Haney has had harder fights. He has had more challenging fights and he’s grown more. I don’t know if I can say that about Ryan... I see that as a very close competitive fight early. And I say that because of Ryan’s attributes like he got heart, right? He’s fast, he’s flashy.”

Eddie Hearn, boxing promoter: Haney to win, but bout could be close

Hearn said, "Devin Haney, in my opinion, is a pound-for-pound great. I think he's the future face of boxing... I think Devin wins the fight but Ryan’s dangerous. Actually, as a style matchup, Ryan’s actually got a pretty good style to take on Devin. He's reactive, he can punch, technically sound, but Devin is so good in so many areas. Up at 140 [pounds] now, he's a different fighter."
