Game notes: Tigers right-hander Alex Faedo returns to the mound Saturday for his second start of the 2023 season after being called up from Triple-A Toledo.

In his return last week, Fadeo pitched 4⅔ innings against the Cardinals in a game the Tigers ended up losing 12-6, although that was not entirely Faedo's fault. He allowed three hits and two earned runs but gave up two home runs to Paul Goldschmidt. A disastrous sixth inning that Faedo was not involved in ended up costing the Tigers the game.

On the other side, the Tigers will be facing another pitcher who only has a few reps this season. Bryce Miller has started two games this year for the Mariners, with 12 innings pitched. At just 24, he made his career debut against the Oakland Athletics on May 2, allowing two hits and one earned run in six innings, but got no decision. His second outing against the Houston Astros was nearly identical, allowing two hits and going six innings, but this time he had no earned runs. He only has allowed one walk all season.
