Game notes: The Tigers will be hoping to rediscover their magic after a five-game win streak came to an end on Sunday against the St. Louis Cardinals. A nightmare sixth inning filled with errors and runs ultimately was too much for the Tigers to overcome, losing 12-6 in St. Louis.
There is still good news for Detroit. The Tigers are playing much better baseball as of late. Eduardo Rodriguez is proving to be a true ace for the team and the bats have started to come alive. They've averaged 5.5 runs over the past six games and have scored four or more in five of those contests.
Plus, those in the middle of the lineup have also started to deliver more consistently. Javier Báez has 10 hits in the past seven games, including three home runs. Meanwhile, Spencer Torkelson hit a 418-foot bomb of a homerun on Sunday against the Cardinals, his first since April 19.
