Detroit Pistons' NBA summer league roster highlighted by recent top draft picks

The Detroit Pistons' summer league roster will be headlined by a lot of new faces — and a few returning ones.

The team announced its 18-player roster for NBA summer league in Las Vegas from July 7-17, on Friday. In addition to last week's fifth overall pick Ausar Thompson and 25th pick Marcus Sasser, the roster includes Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren, James Wiseman, Isaiah Livers and Eugene Omoruyi. Livers and Omoruyi had their 2023-23 team options picked up by the Pistons earlier this week.

The roster also includes 2022-23 two-way guards Buddy Boeheim and Jared Rhoden, Michigan alumnus Zavier Simpson and undrafted free agent Tosan Evbuomwan, who the team signed to an Exhibit-10 contract last week.

TRADE ALERT: Pistons acquire Joe Harris, second-round picks in trade with Nets

The Pistons' coaching staff will mostly consist of Monty Williams' recent hires. Jarrett Jack will sit in the lead chair, and his staff will comprise of assistants Brian Randle and Steve Scalzi, player development coaches Jamelle McMillan and Spencer Rivers and scout Noel Gillepsie.

The Pistons are guaranteed to play five games, and currently have four scheduled. They will face the Orlando Magic at 5:30 p.m. ET on July 8 (ESPN), Houston Rockets on July 9 at 6 p.m. (ESPN2), Toronto Raptors on July 12 at 6 p.m. (ESPN2) and San Antonio Spurs on July 14 at 8:30 p.m. (NBA TV). Each game will be played at the Thomas & Mack Center.
