Detroit Pistons game vs. Houston Rockets: Time, TV channel for Thompson 'Twin Night'

It happened, it finally happened!

After 28 straight painful, excruciating losses, the Detroit Pistons got back into the win column on Saturday night against the Toronto Raptors.

It wasn't easy, and even down some of their top players after a trade earlier in the day with the New York Knicks that sent OG Anunoby to New York, the Raptors made it a game. Time and time again, as the Pistons tried to close out the game on the back of a massive second-half performance by Cade Cunningham, the Raptors just kept hitting shots. But after a football-like catch by Bogdan Bogdanovich on an inbound pass, the Pistons were winners again, beating the Raptors 129-127.

It was a losing streak that started in October and didn't end until the second to last day of December. Time and time again, the Pistons found a way to lose. On Saturday, they finally didn't.

NOW WHAT: Detroit Pistons eager to begin new chapter after ending historic losing streak

The victory came one game after they nearly knocked off the East-leading Boston Celtics on the road, and while it's tough to say anyone is playing well during a 28-game losing streak, it's undeniable that Cunningham has been balling. Since a disastrous game against the Philadelphia 76ers Dec. 15 in which he only had four points, the third-year guard has averaged 31.4 points, 7.9 assists, and 4.7 rebounds over the seven-game stretch. If Cunningham keeps playing like he has the last few weeks, it won't be 28 games before the Pistons win again.

Monday night will be the first leg of "Twin Night" which will honor Ausar and Amen Thompson, who became the first twins to ever be selected back-to-back in the top 5 of the NBA draft in 2023.

The Rockets and Pistons announced a collaboration on Dec. 6 to giveaway Thompson brother-themed bobbleheads for both the games the teams play each other. Fans in Houston can get the bobblehead and then Detroit fans will have the opportunity to claim theirs when the teams play again on Jan. 12.
